Asvajit Boyle is a pioneering Sri Lankan DJ, electronic music producer, and audio-visual artist who has significantly influenced the development of electronic music culture in Sri Lanka since the late 2000s. Based in Colombo, he is the founder of Jambutek Recordings and co-founder of the audio-visual experiences platform Sub_Sequence.
Musical Journey and Achievements
Transitioning from his role as lead guitarist of Colombo’s progressive jazz-rock band ‘Powercut Circus’ in 2009, Asvajit emerged as one of the most respected electronic musicians in post-war Sri Lanka.
His debut EP, “The Hard Boiled EP,” released in 2010, showcased his talent in minimal, techno, and progressive genres, marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s electronic music scene.
Asvajit’s work has been published on record labels worldwide, and he has performed at renowned festivals and nightlife institutions across Europe and Asia, including Berlin’s Kater Holzig, Sisyphos, and Fusion Festival.
